Utica First Insurance Company is currently seeking a Business Analyst for our Oriskany, NY

location.

This position will be responsible for performing detailed requirements analysis with business units

for requested changes, defects, and new projects. This position will collaborate with technical teams

to relay and refine the requirements developed with the different business units. This position will

be responsible for documenting plans and processes, facilitating functional unit testing, and

assisting in data management activities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work with business units to gather business needs and requirements to create initial

technical requirements and specifications.

• Participates in project meetings, document and distribute meeting details.

• Participates in developing user acceptance test plans by analyzing business requirements

and engaging with project team members and subject matter experts, as necessary.

• Supports the management of the user acceptance testing process, coordinate with business

users as required, identifying the testing team, and setting up a testing schedule.

• Collaborates with external and internal development teams to address issues found during

testing and validates those corrective actions taken by development will resolve those

issues.

• Supports activities throughout project lifecycle.

• Communicates status to Vice President of Operations and other leadership as directed.

• Assist team in the execution of data management activities – develop process

improvements, data analysis using reporting tools, conduct periodic audits and data

maintenance, interact with teams to obtain data requirements for new and existing

applications, dashboards, and reports.

• Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding system information and reports,

product changes, dates, and approval information demands whenever required.

Experience requirements:

Minimum 1-3 years in projection management or similar analyst experience as described below

• Analysis/design skills including ability to gather data on systems issues, support the

process of identifying alternate approaches, assess business impact, and support the

development and implementation of those solutions.

• Basic project management skills, gather and document requirements, communicate project

status updates, and to determine specifications, schedules, and deliverables.

• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills for

consulting with users to understand needs, define and document requirements, work in

project teams, provide effective solutions and complete assigned project tasks.

• Knowledge of current technologies, tools, applications, and vendors.

• Ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships, including contact with clients, vendors, and

co-workers

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Continued educational development in Insurance or

project management preferred.

Hybrid Work Model - This position will be on site with the ability to work remotely part time.
