RISE Academy is an alternative middle/high school within Lawrence Public Schools. RISE is a trauma-informed school, grounded in restorative justice, that values relationships and mutual respect with the belief that all students want to be successful in school. RISE students learn in a competency based structure in an academic and social-emotional program that works to prepare students for an ever changing world after high school.

RISE Academy incorporates competency based education, the Modern Classroom Project, restorative justice, trauma informed practices, and the belief that all students want to be successful.

Responsibilities, additional responsibilities may be added the request of the Principal:
The BBE’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Check-in daily with supervisor for coverage assignments
-Support classroom teachers with instruction during the school day
-Cover classes when lead teachers are absent
-Complete regularly scheduled duties and assignments outside of the classroom
-Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate
-Assign classwork and homework as necessary and according to teachers' instructions
-Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students
-Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment
-Supervise students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125.00 per day
