EquipmentShare is searching for a Budget Analyst for our corporate office based out of Columbia, Mo., to support our Strategic Financial Analytics team as the department continues to grow. This new team member may be based anywhere in the United States and offers a remote/hybrid work option, but must be able to meet with management in person at least once quarterly.

What You'll Do as a Budget Analyst

• Play an integral role in presenting financial statements, operational data and other key information to internal stakeholders and the c-suite
• The Budget Analyst will serve as the owner of the consolidated budget within the forecasting process
• Responsible for reviewing the organization's budget and approving spending requests through evidence-based analyses
• Conducting cost/benefit and other types of analyses
• Submitting budget recommendations for approval or rejection of funding requests
• Explain and defend recommendations to management and stakeholders
• Oversee expenditure and identify trends in spending
• Suggest improvements to cut costs and improve profits
• Creating adhoc reports

Skills & Qualifications for a Budget Analyst

• Legal authorization to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship or an OPT Visa required
• 5+ years of experience or education focused in corporate finance: forecasting, reporting and budget analysis
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
• Expert-level Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Ability to swiftly extract key insights from data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of budgeting software (Kepion, Workday, Sage or similar budgeting tools)
• SQL experience preferred
• Knowledge of an analytical language like Python, R, SAS, SPSS, etc., preferred
