THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Billing Assistant is a key member to the Firm’s Billing Services team. This position is responsible for assisting with maintaining the firm’s rates and assisting Billing Coordinators with a wide range of billing tasks.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Review and correct daily timekeeper entries associated with exceptions rate codes.
  • Work with billing coordinators, secretaries, and/or partners to clarify distinct rate requirements prior to processing.
  • Revalue time after rate exceptions are complete, if necessary.
  • Assist Billing Coordinators with managing time entries and edits, adjustments, write-downs, rate management and bill posting.
  • Prepare invoices in customized formats as required by Clients and Partners.
  • Initiate requests for supporting documentation and review for accuracy.
  • Provide basic financial data and analysis and work on other ad hoc support duties as required.

YOU HAVE:

  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • One year of legal billing experience preferred
  • Experience with Elite Enterprise preferred
  • Experience with Immigration billing preferred
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
