Essential Functions:

n
• AEVEX Aerospace is seeking a mid-level to senior-level full-time test engineer to aid in the support of a small UAS aircraft electromechanical design, assembly, and test.
n
• Experience in the UAS utilizing open-source and proprietary autopilots Arduplane, PX4, etc.
n
• Experience updating key flight parameters and key flight metrics in autopilots is desired.
n
• Plan and perform electrical engineering research, design development and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications.
n
• Work closely with other engineers to increase system automation and efficiency
n
• Write procedures for system use and maintenance.
n
• Assist with advanced troubleshooting of autopilots and parameters
n
• Develop trades in SWaP (size, weight, and power)
n
• Show an understanding of microcontrollers and embedded hardware
n
• Show an understanding of computer networking basics such as IP addresses, ports, routing.
n
• Supporting aircraft mission systems integration (radios, payloads, sensors)
n
• Electrical engineering support
n
• Defining Cable building, wire stripping and crimping, soldering, installation of avionics equipment
n
• Drawing up fixtures, cables, assemblies to be committed design documents.
n
• Ability to use electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools
n
• Machining and tooling
n
• Operate CNC machine and other fabrication machines to make fixtures and parts.
n
• Ability to work with hand tools and power tools
n
• Maintenance and upkeep of machines and tools
n
• Soldering
n
• Knowledge of Mil-Spec and Avionics tooling
n
• Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, drawings and schematics
n
• Maintaining work area for daily operations and cleanliness
n

Qualifications:

n
• Passion for aviation and flight
n
• Associates or Bachelor's in Engineering or applicable technical field
n
• Detail oriented and capable with working in a team environment
n
• Hold a current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI within 6 months
n
• Job may require up to 25% travel throughout the year to CONUS and or OCONUS locations
n
• Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 25 lbs. unassisted
n
• Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
n
