Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area with an array of sub-specialties including orthopedics, brain and spine care, sports medicine, physiatry, and physical therapy. We are looking for a part-time Authorization Specialist to join our team. This position is remote and will work three days per week. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and decision making skills; Ability to work with a great deal of accuracy and attention to detail; Organizational and office skills, including data entry.

Responsibilities: :
    • Verifies insurance eligibilty, benefits, and preauthorization.
    • Identifies patient preauthorization, referral requirements, and ensures they are met and in place in a timely fashion to facilitate efficient billing and payment for elective, urgent, emergent, and add on procedures/tests.
    • Contacts insurance companies to verify and validate requirements to ensure accuracy of preauthorization process.
    • Meet performance standards including but not limited to: Quality, collections, customer service, and productivity.
    • Identify current and prior patient balances and educate patients on their financial responsibilities.
    • Contact and educate patients, physicians, and staff to ensure accuracy.
    • Document all authorization related information per department protocol.
    • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality abiding by all HIPAA rules and regulations

Required:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 1-2 years of clinical and/or health care experience preferred.
    • 1-2 years experience in insurance authorization preferred.
    • Knowledge of health insurance companies and processes.
    • Excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and reprioritize throughout the day.
    • Must be able to work independently and manage time wisely
