First Pres is a vibrant congregation in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs ministering to students and families from all over the region. Our student ministry team is focused on meeting youth where they are at, sharing the gospel in accessible ways and equipping them to be followers of Jesus in their spheres of influence. Through small groups, high energy youth group gatherings and fun events throughout the year, our student groups are growing in faith and in size!

If you love sharing Jesus with middle schoolers, equipping volunteers to come alongside them in relationship and encouragement and have a desire to pour your life into youth and their families, we’d love to talk with you.

Essential Roles:

  • Have a heart for 6th-8th grade students inside and outside the church; and be committed to their families while fostering their healthy spiritual, emotional, physical and social growth.
  • Present the Gospel in a clear and meaningful way and encourage students to authentic discipleship.
  • In partnership with the Children’s and Student Ministries staff, work to ensure healthy transitions from Children’s Ministry through High School Ministry.
  • Recruit, develop and train a broad base of lay leadership who will support and enhance the mission of Student Ministries and provide vital and strategic support to staff.
  • Be a regular and active presence in local schools, at community events and in the life of our congregation.
  • Create strong and meaningful relationships with students, parents and volunteers leaders through regular and intentional contact work.


General Responsibilities:

  • Represent Christ and First Presbyterian Church with grace and hospitality.
  • Understand and support the vision, values, mission and ministry of First Presbyterian Church.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff towards ministry vision and goals, follow the staff values and norms, follow the Guidelines as stated in the Employee Guidelines Manual, and respect confidentiality.
  • Engage in opportunities for ongoing spiritual growth including personal retreats and follow-up, worship, staff retreats, Bible study, spiritual mentoring, etc.
  • Regularly attend appropriate staff meetings, staff chapel and appropriate meetings or events as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Faith: Committed Follower of Jesus Christ, Active member or will become an active member of First Presbyterian Church and holds beliefs that do not conflict with those of First Presbyterian Church.
