Summary: This position will be critical in the the new and emerging Facilities Department. The Associate Facilities Engineer Controls Engineer will be placed within an on the job training program while also performing a supporting role for the Automation Controls Engineer under the Senior Project Engineer. The associate will assist the Senior Engineer with new construction projects. The Facilities group handles new build projects, remolding projects, internal utility projects and facilities planned maintenance for multiple buildings. The Associate Facilities Engineer will become an intricate member of the facilities group
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Follow written and verbal instructions from the Senior Project Engineering / Department Manager
- Willing to learn:
- Project Managing - Managing Supporting multiple facilities projects with changing priorities
- Exhaust and ventilation sizing and quoting
- Compressors for compressed air system, sizing and quoting
- Chilled water system, sizing and quoting
- Electrical utilities feeds, calculating electrical power feeds to facilities equipment and operations equipment
- Research building laws and codes for all related state / federal regulations
- Developing and revising building and utility prints
- Cleanroom systems, sizing and quoting
- Support Functions
- Assist Senior Project Engineering with development of bid documents.
- Assist Senior Project Engineering with competitive bidding process.
- Assist Senior Project Engineering with supervision of ongoing projects.
- Assist Senior Project Engineering with interaction with local building officials
- Generate purchase requisitions, Build of Materials (BOMs), Maintenance Work Requests (MWR), and documentation needed to conduct project activities.
- Responsible for maintaining building master drawings
- Ensure compliance with all local and federal codes and regulations as they pertain to the facility
- When skills have been obtained
- Monitor plant systems, analyze performance, and initiate action for improvement and optimization.
- Provide repair support and troubleshooting support for maintenance, perform investigations and diagnostic activities to resolve facilities support equipment issues
- Design, develop, quote, oversee all related expectations on remolding, updating, and new builds related to facilities
- All other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Project Engineer/Department Manager
Required Qualifications:
- Associate in Facilities Engineering, though difficult to obtain can be in related discipline
- Structural Engineering. (preferred)
- Architectural. (preferred)
- Electrical Engineering
- Project Management
- Mechanical Engineering
- CAD certificate programs in a degree with strong math
- General disciplines (strong in math)
- Strong in a trade license education with strong math
- Computer Aided Design systems
- Recognize print symbols
- Must be team oriented
- Soft “people” skills
- Self-motivated
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Willing to learn and be trained in facilities related functions
- Willing to learn a GMP environment
- Needs to be a critical thinker, who embraces (out of the box) solutions
- Enjoys learning and implementing new technologies with a team and on your own
Physical Requirements:
- Heavy lifting up to 50lbs and bending at times will be necessary.
- Climbing, bending, kneeling
