ROLE SUMMARY

The Equity Programs team at Alliance College-Ready Public Schools is seeking an Associate to support the equity programs team and—by extension—our school leaders, teachers, and staff working to consistently deliver an exceptional education that prepares all scholars for success in college and beyond. This position reports to the Director, Strategic Initiatives - Equity Programs and supports the team through administrative support, project planning, and other team needs.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Ensure strong operations and administration of the Equity Programs Team

  • Organize and maintain our team systems and structures
  • Schedule and coordinate team meetings and meetings with key partners with a customer service oriented approach
  • Organize and maintain our system of documents in Google Drive, and other organizational systems (e.g. how we collect receipts and documentation for expense reporting, determining file naming conventions, processing vacation requests, etc.);
  • Ensure team members clearly understand and are reminded of project deadlines and support the monitoring of/follow up for those deadlines; and
  • Plan and support development of written communications (e.g. team-wide emails)
  • Lead the creation of administrative systems or processes as necessary to improve team efficiency; and

Provide executive support

  • Work side-by-side with the Chief Equity Programs Officer to reconcile team credit card, scan and approve expense requests/reimbursements, and manage contracts using our procure to pay system;
  • Arrange meetings and respond to requests as needed; and
  • Provide other administrative/executive assistant support as needed.

Contribute to special projects related to Equity Programs initiatives

  • Clean and analyze data used to develop insights on key initiatives
  • Research and compile relevant contextual data related to key initiatives
  • Create powerpoint presentations for internal meetings

Coordinate meetings, events and professional development

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events throughout the school year, including but not limited to professional development sessions, leadership retreats, and team meetings;
  • Create project plans and other documents and systems that support event planning, including surveys and spreadsheets;
  • Coordinate logistics, including setting up Zoom links, sending out calendar invitations, tracking attendance, preparing materials, ordering food, and supporting with tech and execution;
  • Regularly communicate with internal and external stakeholders at various stages of planning
  • Support logistics and smooth facilitation of internal team meetings;
  • Ensure colleagues are celebrated and supported personally and professionally; and
  • Research and implement activities to develop relationships, build community, and learn together.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 1 year of professional administrative work experience required, preferably in an educational setting
  • HS Diploma or equivalent (e.g. G.E.D.)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Google-based applications

WORK LOCATION

This position is remote and will work virtually in the greater Los Angeles area, with occasional travel to school sites. The successful candidate will be given a $400 work from home set-up allowance and receive a monthly stipend of $100.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

In alignment with our commitment to equity for our scholars, Alliance is committed to equity and transparency for our team and offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience as well as generous retirement and health benefits. This position is exempt.

  • Compensation: Alliance provides a competitive salary. Based on relevant prior work experience, our salary range for this role is $23.28 - $34.66 per hour
  • Relocation: Individuals residing outside of the Greater Los Angeles area are eligible for a relocation bonus of $5,000 for individuals and $7,500 new staff with families/partners.
  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision plans options that are covered at 100% of monthly premiums for individual employees and at least $1,000 per month towards family plan premiums.
  • Retirement: Alliance Home Office employees are eligible for a retirement allowance equal to 7.5% of their regular yearly earnings.
  • Paid Leave: Regular full-time 12-month employees accrue vacation at a rate of 10 hours/month for a maximum of 180 hours in addition to 10 national holidays as well as a week for Spring Break and a week for Winter Break.
  • Professional Development: At Alliance, we believe in supporting staff growth and development. Home Office staff are allocated $500 per year for professional development expenses.
