Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500+ students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to assist the Head Coach with all the responsibilities and duties of running a varsity collegiate sports Program. The central responsibilities of this position are recruiting student athletes, coaching current student-athletes, and effectively advising student-athletes. Community involvement will be expected for this position as it is an important aspect of our institution. Position supervises student workers and ambassadors.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree required. Six months to two years of similar or related experience (i.e. prior coaching and/ or collegiate playing experience)

Essential Functions

• Recruiting student-athletes in state and out of state. This includes extensive travel all over Kansas and the United States.
• Coaching and training current student-athletes. Preseason, in season, and post season workouts.
• Effectively advising student-athletes to get them in the courses necessary for them to graduate.
