Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing service department workflow in an effective and efficient manner, ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service
  • Consistently and effectively sell department products and services without jeopardizing honesty and integrity
  • Ensures proper repair order documentation, i.e., complaint, cause and correction noted on every repair order with punch time for each operation
  • Assists in the preparation of annual operating budget for the service department
  • Prepare all weekly, monthly, and quarterly service department reporting, error free and submit it to management
  • Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
  • Processes all warranty paperwork and claims in a timely manner, ensuring proper documentation
  • Reconciles all warranty receivables with payments
  • Files and maintains all service records
  • Directs and maintains department rentals fleet, ensuring vehicles are properly maintained, detailed, and documented while acting as liaison between Sales and Service to maintain aging units in rental fleet
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities
  • Maintains a professional appearance and workspace at all times; maintains customer waiting area kept clean
  • Manages customer complaints or issues immediately and according to the dealership's guidelines, with the highest level of professionalism
  • Assist department employees and/or department duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • 4 to 10 years related automotive parts and machinery experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical specifications, financial reports, and contractual/legal documents
  • Ability to effectively present and articulate information to top management
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and multi-task under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
  • Automotive knowledge is preferred; will train the right candidate
