Job Summary: The Assistant Program Director will play a leadership role for oversight and expansion of RCIL and CDR's Independent Living (IL) Services. This includes program development, training, promoting Independent Living Philosophy in the Community, overall oversight of day-to-day operations and providing direct supervision to the IL staff.

Program Management Job Duties:

  • Responsible for oversight and expansion of RCIL and CDR's Independent Living (IL) services.
  • Manages day-to-day operations and provides direct supervision to the IL staff working in Rochester.
  • Monitors program operations in the IL department for compliance, quality, efficiency and effectiveness, addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Initiates and set goals for the programs based on the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Promotes Independent Living Philosophy in the Community.

Personnel Management Job Duties:

  • Proactively foster a positive, transparent, and inclusive work environment for staff, clients, and community partners. Be the primary contact to field questions and provide support to staff.
  • Performs supervisory duties that include but are not limited to hiring, training and professional development of staff, promoting, disciplining, scheduling, terminating, measuring the performance of staff, and conducting annual staff evaluations.
  • Supervises the Benefits Advisement team, setting priorities and providing support to team members on a daily basis.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Tracks, evaluates and improves programs utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Ensures that department milestones and goals are met by monitoring and addressing staff performance while adhering to approved budgets.
  • Ensures timely, accurate and complete reporting for the department. Represents the organization with funding agencies and networks related to CDR's IL services.
  • Develops partnerships with other organizations that can promote and expand CDR's IL services.

Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Director to develop and implement additional IL and related services that support the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
  • Assists in the development of grant applications or proposals.
  • Participates as needed with the Director in formulation, evaluation, and/ or revision of program policy and procedures.
  • Participates in the investigation of all incidences. Prepares or oversees preparation of accurate incident report documentation within required time frames.
  • Prepares and writes grant reports, including state and federal grants. Submits board report information in a timely fashion.
  • Participates in various committees and organizational activities as assigned.
  • Collaborates with partners to publicize the organization and its programs to the community and support its goals.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Education and Experience:

  • College Degree preferred (Master’s, Bachelor’s, Associates) in a human service-related field.
  • Candidate must have working knowledge and ten (10) years of experience, five (05) years in a supervisory role relating to Independent Living Services for individuals with disabilities, seniors and BIPOC individuals.
  • Candidate must have experience in managing a budget, and managing grant-funded and fee-based services programs.
  • Candidate should have a good understanding of Fee-for service employment services, ACCESS-VR and TRAID related services.

This is an office-based job and normal business hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Salary will commensurate with skills and experience level of the candidate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
