Yellowstone Club’s Golf Course Maintenance Department is currently seeking an Assistant Equipment Technician.
Under the Director of Agronomy and Equipment Manager’s supervision, the Assistant Equipment Technician assists in inspection, maintenance and repairs to all equipment used on the golf course. The right individual will be a core member of our team and have many opportunities to advance their career and education in the turf equipment management industry.
POSITION AVAILABILITY: January 9, 2023 or earlier
WAGE: $24.00/hour, plus overtime; full-time, year-round position
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Equipment Manager, Director of Agronomy, Superintendent
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered equipment, the proper methods of servicing golf course equipment, and the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment.
- Ability to change oil, hydraulic fluid, and all necessary filter and fluids in a variety of golf course and agricultural equipment.
- Tire repair and maintenance experience, with the ability to occasionally maneuver heavy tractor and loader tires.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and well-organized parts inventory room and work area.
- Knowledge of golf course equipment and their operations and some heavy equipment operation is a plus. Training will be provided if needed.
- Assisting in daily inspection and set-up of golf course maintenance equipment.
- Applicants must have small engine repair knowledge of 2 and 4 cycle engines.
- Applicant must be well-organized, maintain a positive attitude, and keep a clean and safe work area; strong communication skills are a must.
- This position requires overtime in summer months, with weekend work on a rotating schedule.
- Welding experience preferred but not required.
- Outside work required, including assistance with snow removal and winter amenity upkeep.
- Applicants with little or no experience will be considered, given the candidate has the desire to pursue a career in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of the game of golf and an understanding of how job performance affects playing conditions on the course.
- Strong emphasis on safety and attention to detail
- Assisting with equipment operation when needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as approved by the Company’s insurance carrier.
- High School diploma or equivalent; Certificate or Degree with a mechanical background is a plus
- Requires strong organizational capabilities.
- Spanish speaking helpful but not required.
