Position Objectives:

To assist in departmental planning, the implementation of fundraising strategies to generate and maximize net income, monitoring progress, and working to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with rules and regulations

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • In consultation and verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by PETA:

o Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Development and senior department staff, as well as other important stakeholders to identify short and long-term fundraising goals, objectives, and metrics – and effective strategies to meet those goals

o Work with all department staff to ensure strong morale, effective team building and intra-departmental communications; work with staff to create a work environment conducive to creativity, cooperation, and “best practices”

o Assist with the preparation and tracking of annual fundraising budgets by senior department staff

o Maintain and improve department-wide fundraising analysis, reports, and KPI dashboards

o Identify opportunities to better integrate and coordinate fundraising programs within the department to support shared objectives and budget goals

o Identify new technologies, fundraising programs, staffing requirements, and strategies to boost net income across the department and organization

  • Provide backup and support as requested by the Senior Vice President of Development
  • Take on additional projects and duties as requested by the Senior Vice President of Development
Requirements:
  • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of seven years of management experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting
  • Previous leadership experience and the proven ability to motivate individuals, encourage teamwork, and work collaboratively within a large organization
  • Prior experience with creative problem-solving as well as quantitative and qualitative assessments
  • Proven ability to anticipate and manage requirements and competing deadlines, gather information, perform research, and resolve problems promptly in order to maximize efficiency
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a complex organization, managing competing demands with a positive attitude, both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
  • Ability to represent PETA’s philosophy and to professionally advocate PETA’s positions on issues
  • This position requires proof of the COVID-19 full vaccination and booster
  • Willingness and ability to travel on occasion
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization


The salary range for this position is $62,000 - $77,000 annually. The ultimate salary within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
