Your Day

  • Perform hands-on day-to-day transactional and accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoicing and reporting.
  • Create and implement necessary accounting processes and procedures and look to maximize efficiencies within the multiple entities.
  • Reconcile rent rolls and interact with property managers on tenant rent payments.
  • Drive rent collections through systems and processes as well as, when necessary, making phone calls, sending emails and other communications.
  • Responsible for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Work independently to manage and perform all aspects of the general business operations including office administration, benefits, insurance, etc.
  • Oversee and reconcile up to 20+ bank accounts and recommend movement of funds between accounts. Oversee personal bank accounts for the Owner.
  • Observe, identify and collaborate on trends and opportunities using expertise and instinct.
  • Cultivate and manage business relationships with banking and tax partners, property managers, attorneys, brokers and other business professionals impacting the operations of the business.
  • Consult with and interact with our accounting firm on a regular basis on financial transactions, payroll and tax matters and other related guidance affecting the business.
  • Collaborate with the Owner and management team on financial and business operations, growth initiatives and investment opportunities.

The Must-Haves

  • 5-7 years’ experience in the role of Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager or similar, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred however equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and Excel, property management software a plus.
  • Solid understanding of general business operations and management
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal, credit report and motor vehicle background screening.

  • Focused and able to analyze, identify and communicate trends
  • Ability to travel locally (NH and MA) on occasion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff and external business partners

  • Driver's license required and clean driving record.
  • Company paid Predictive Index Screening will be required

Other Important Details

  • Work Schedule: Full time, Flexible M-F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (times may vary depending on projects)
  • Job Location: Work from home. Must live in MA or NH in order to attend occasional meetings.
  • Annualized Salary: $60,000- $70,000
