Overview:
The Assistant Controller assists the Controller and Chief Financial Officer with monthly reports to Corporate and special projects.

What You'll Do:

  • Assists Controller in meeting all deadlines associated with month end close. This will include financial statement preparation with various supporting schedules for AP Corporate office.
  • Responsible for completion of monthly internal reports for senior management. This includes Flash, Enterprise and office recaps of operations.
  • Files annual reports.
  • Reviews financial statements.
  • Assists with budget preparation for all entities.
  • Files CAT Tax, Surplus Lines and Sales tax returns.
  • Processes Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Assists with direct bill downloads.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:
  • Degree in accounting from college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Strong attention to detail.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Agency management software; Accounting software; Internet software; Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
