SUMMARY

The Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, analyzing and maintaining a combination of general accounting systems that will include the records of assets, liabilities, revenue, expenses, budgets, cost accounting and other financial transactions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
While no supervisory responsibilities are assigned, leadership and the ability to handle escalated questions or issues from the financial team or other corporate staff are required.

Duties:
1. Key contributor for all day to day transactional procedures including but not limited to review of account reconciliations as well as the roll forward of applicable accounts for Sr. Accountant or Manager review.

2. Supports and is the internal contact for the accounts payable and accounts receivable programs for the organization including the coding of invoices and the checking of prices, quantities and extensions; the posting of receivables to proper accounts and the preparation of transmittal documents as well as customer credit issuance and credit hold and the coding of data for inputting to financial data processing system.

3. Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options; substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.

4. Uses professional concepts and company policies and procedures to pro-actively solve a wide range of difficult problems in creative and practical ways.

5. Engages in critical and confidential aspects of accounting; maintains financial security by following internal controls.

6. Continuous analysis of day to day transactions on the basis of financial analytical models to monitor on a timely basis the accurate coding of data for input to financial data processing system, as well as perform detailed root cause analysis and providing feedback for corrective actions.

7. Business Partner for all Department Managers in close collaboration with the Sr. Accountant and Regional Accounting Manager in the coordination for administrative matters managed by the Accounting Department.

8. Documentation and continuous monitoring of established processes and controls.

9. Other duties as assigned and special projects will be a component of this position.

General Qualifications

Requirements include knowledge of Microsoft Office (excellent command of Excel is essential). Strong organizational, analytical and creative problem solving skills in financial matters is required. Professional communication skills both verbal and written is essential. Ability to work under strict reporting deadlines in a team oriented group environment is necessary. High degree of self-motivation and detail orientation is required. Must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver established objectives in a proactive, timely manner, with a high focus on the integrity of the data.

Education and/or Experience

B.S. /B.A. degree in Finance and/or Accounting; 5-7 years of related experience is necessary.

Language Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is essential. Reports, email correspondence, schedules, are all typical requirements of this position and must be effectively and professionally communicated.

Mathematical Skills

Excellent math and analytical skills required.

Reasoning Ability

Must be able to multi task and operate in a fast paced environment while maintaining a disciplined approach to oversee employer and customer’s (internal and external) needs. Works on assignments that are analytical by nature. Must be able to solve both practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of factors in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid driver’s license is required.

TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT

This position uses a computer extensively with demonstrated abilities in the use of Microsoft products as well as other common office type equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will work in an office environment located in Nashua, NH. Occasional travel may be required to other Company locations.
