SUMMARY

The primary role of the Material Management Specialist is monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory of all raw materials; ensuring timely deliveries of all raw materials from vendors and carriers; operations support with metrics and tracking, and general operations administrative support. Attention to detail is a must as this impacts the production schedule and the plant’s ability to service customers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

SAFETY

· Follow and enforce all safety rules, regulations, procedures, training, and initiatives

· Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas

· Participate on safety teams

· Adhere to all plant and position-specific safety policies, procedures, and standards

QUALITY

· Accurately enter data into computer systems

· Confirm information reported on paperwork before submission

· Monitor and report unusual or suspect material, product, or equipment issues

OPERATIONS

· Load level raw material deliveries. Manage MRP spreadsheet

· Provide accurate and timely feedback on all raw material inventories to Summit Operations Leader, Plant Controller, and other R&A Team members as requested

· Execute all inventory counts as requested

· Provide accurate and timely feedback to Summit Operations Team on any raw materials issues

· Supports and participates in TPM process or specific team as needed

· Supports and participates in Safety Teams as needed

· Provide root cause analysis of all raw material corrections (write-ons/write-offs) including ownership of all raw material inventory correction remediation action items

· Complete daily analytics and spreadsheets

· Maintain Summit Finished Goods BOM per SKU

· Maintain Maintenance Supply Room BOMs in SAP

· Complete and manage inventory counts

· Manage relationship with both trucking carriers and rail carriers including: demurrage bills; rail log; freight claims; related detention

· Finished Goods Inventory

· Assist Maintenance Planner with spare parts counts

· Assist with truck and rail GRs as needed

· Summit Raw Material Sourcing Issues Liaison

· Review SMOI & actions related

· Budget Support – annual data analysis; financial data mining

· “Cost of Goods Issued” (COGI) – daily rectification with Roofing

· Asphalt plant support w/ raw materials issues

· Attends all Daily Operations Meetings providing insights and updates to raw materials

· Be an active participant and a leader in CI functions (Kaizens, 5S, Six Sigma).

· Be the back up for the roofing Materials Management Specialist

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
