In this role you will:
  • Lead 30+ logistics team members across 4 teams to support production at the Longmont manufacturing location in the areas of shipping, receiving, supply delivery, and equipment reliability
  • Build capability in logistics team leaders and technicians to deliver key business results and drive department/plant improvements
  • Responsible for engaging the team in meeting safety, quality, production, and cost savings targets for their area by:
  • Develop and maintain scorecard metrics and review progress with leadership; understand gaps and develop action plans accordingly
  • Ensure key performance indicators are established for teams and the results are communicated routinely
  • Drive high-performance work culture by engaging with team members on the floor and coaching to problem solve, make decisions, and become self-reliant.
  • Partner with Logistics Manager to develop and deliver department master plan, including key organizational projects
  • Self-starter with outside the box thinking to develop ideas and coach team members on planning and execution
  • Understand vendor management tools (scorecard, KPIs) and ability to develop such tools with the service vendor providers
  • Address gaps in department performance through the implementation and effective coaching of Smucker Continuous Improvement methodologies; foster a zero-loss culture
  • Responsible for ensuring department issues are driven to root cause and eliminated
  • Understand company policies and procedures and apply consistently across your teams; administer any necessary discipline
  • Oversee training and qualification programs for designated line/area; participate in assessments, ensure effective training, and maintain consistent qualification standards
  • Translate complex information into easily understandable messages to facilitate clear communication and expectations
  • Embrace change and build team buy-in to new initiatives and improvements
  • Manage time and attendance for designated line/area (including payroll approval)
  • Provide performance-based feedback to team leaders and technicians, including annual Performance Appraisals
  • Model the Basic Beliefs and Our Commitment to Each Other
  • Assist in executing plant start up commissioning, qualification, and verification (CQV) activities

Below is what we’re looking for:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Previous manufacturing experience is required, food manufacturing preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing others
  • Background in logistics is preferred
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a large organization to deliver business needs
  • Ability to effectively engage team members on the plant floor
  • Decisive, proactive, and strategic in decision making
  • Willingness to lead by example, coach and train team
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills
  • Effectively works across organization boundaries and with diverse teams
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to learn new skills/technologies quickly
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that most effectively supports the organization
  • Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed
  • Colorado Specific Salary Range - 87,000K - 141,000K
  • This role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan bonus
