The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Supervisor will supervise and coordinate licensing activities at statewide ABA center-based programs; supervise, train, and evaluate licensing staff; and provide technical assistance and consultation ABA site settings to children with unique and special needs. This role will participate in the development and design of the agency's statewide licensing program and perform related licensing work as determined.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages activities related to the inspection, study and evaluation of ABA center-based facilities required to be licensed by the Commonwealth.
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates ABA licensing staff. Involved in decisions pertaining to licensors, including hiring of licensors, performance review, and assessment of potential issues with employee competencies.
- Supervises licensing studies, monitoring, and focus visits, as necessary.
- Supervises licensing and regulatory reviews against licensed and unlicensed facilities including but not limited to allegations of inadequate health and safety, inappropriate behavior management, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, regulatory violations, neglect, and omission of care of children and unlicensed care.
- Reviews license studies and regulatory review reports.
- Coordinates contacts with other state and local agencies related to ABA services.
- Refer cases of non-compliance of regulations for appropriate enforcement action.
- Participates in the development and implementation of deficiency- correction orders, formal complaints, pre-hearing conference, hearing proceedings and Court proceedings.
- Testifies at hearings and in court matters related to ABA cases.
- Coordinates the dissemination of ABA program information to other agency units.
- Participates in designing and implementing statewide in-service training, policy formulation, proposed regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Collects, compiles, prepares, and disseminates statistical reports on ABA licensing activities.
- Active member and contributor of the Supervisors and Management team.
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to supervise, including planning and assigning work according to the nature of the job to be accomplished, the capabilities of licensing staff and available resources; controlling work through periodic reviews and/or evaluations.
Ability to determine licensors’ training needs; coach and provide or arrange for needed training.
Ability to gather information through observation, interviewing and examination of records and documents to evaluate the effectiveness of services delivered to children.
Ability to communicate effectively and to communicate technical and regulatory information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
Ability to facilitate conflict resolution.
Ability to prepare detailed, accurate, and objective written reports in a timely manner.
Ability to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships with peers, staff, state and local officials, community groups, and the general public.
Knowledge of or ability to use computer software.
Knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards, and guidelines governing assigned unit activities.
Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, trends, standards, and organization of all functions of licensed ABA site facilities.
Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of regulatory and investigative activities of ABA site facilities.
Knowledge of community resources for children and families.
