Job description
Perform all activities associated with irrigated forage production including but not limited to tillage, planting, chemical applications, irrigation and harvesting operations. Perform routine equipment maintenance and repair. Assist other operational areas including but not limited to livestock feeding and care, fence installation and repair, building /facility maintenance.

Minimum Required Qualifications
High School diploma plus one year of work experience in forage production required; equivalency considered. Knowledge of basic agronomic principles used in the production of forage crops is essential. Knowledge and ability in the operation and adjustment of agriculture field equipment including basic equipment maintenance and repair is necessary. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet UNL driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in agricultural sciences, preferably agronomy or mechanized agriculture systems. Knowledge of GPS guidance and control units and irrigation water management methods is preferred. Knowledge or skill in the operation of irrigation systems, welding and fabrication of equipment, and knowledge in the care and handling of livestock is desirable. Commercial applicator’s license for applying crop production pesticides is beneficial.

Posted Salary $18.00/hr minimum
