Aerospace Structures Engineer III

Location: Centennial
Special Aerospace Services (SAS) is a dynamic and rapidly growing aerospace company. SAS is a space engineering and hardware development company. SAS provides critical support to NASA, the Department of Defense, and the increasingly dynamic and varied Commercial Space providers. Special Aerospace Services is looking for an Aerospace Structures Engineer III to apply their knowledge of structural analysis (e.g., materials technology, finite element modeling, static/coupled-loads analysis, fatigue analysis, damage tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, vibration analysis, structural testing, etc.) to determine structural adequacy of spacecraft and spacecraft components to customer requirements and regulatory compliance.

How You Will Be Rewarded

The annual salary range for this role is $106,333 - $126,572. Compensation depends on the candidate’s work experience, education/training, and related skills. SAS provides a total rewards approach to compensation, providing incentives and benefits far beyond base salary.

To qualify for the position, you must have the following requirements and skills:
  • BS degree or higher in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 or more years of related experience in statics, dynamics, the strength of materials, and linear algebra
  • Experience performing structural analysis of aerospace-related hardware including stress analysis and structural dynamics.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in the use of FEMAP
  • Proficiency in the use of IDEAS, NX, NASTRAN or similar finite element pre/post processing software is preferred
  • Experience producing error-free models in Mathcad, Matlab or Microsoft Excel
We are most interested in candidates who can also:
  • Construct, modify and run closed-form and analytical structural analysis
  • Construct, modify and run structural finite element models
  • Develop margins based on analysis in compliance with factors specified in provided standards
  • Understanding of GD&T standards and principles
  • Generate documentation to support analysis and margins utilizing provided templates
