Job Summary
Join an expanding team of outpatient therapists at Shiawassee Health & Wellness. SHW is an innovative Community Mental Health organization nestled in a rural community. We are seeking a clinician to provide individual therapy services to support adults who are diagnosed with a mental illness or have a co-occurring (substance use) disorder. SHW has an established DBT team and can offer training for clinicians interested in providing this treatment modality. Therapy services are provided in a comfortable office Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule. The therapist is provided clinical support and supervision to manage scheduling, documentation, as well as clinical case consultation.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities include assessing and identifying treatment needs and developing service plans to support individuals in their journey toward recovery. Skills in motivational interviewing and solution focused techniques are desired. Clinicians will have opportunities to learn and apply evidenced based practices, groups and provide crisis intervention to ensure the safety of individuals served.
Qualifications and Skills
Master’s degree in social work (LLMSW or LMSW preferred), counseling (LLPC or LPC) or psychology (LLP) with one year experience working with individuals with chronic mental illness, and two years’ experience in a human services agency required. Licensing supervision may be available at no cost. Ample opportunities are provided for professional development.
