Job Summary


Assisting in student recruitment, student support, and student retention (including necessary candidate testing support for state-based assessments);initiating, guiding, and completing program admission and candidate certification processes for the Department of Teacher Education and Social Work; assisting in compiling and disseminating crucial departmental and candidate data for the purposes of meeting education program provider requirements and continuous program improvement; and providing administrative support for department/unit operations.

Responsibilities


Assists in Appropriate Unit Level Marketing and Recruiting -

Provides support to the unit for unit-level marketing and recruitment efforts as guided by the academic unit head.
Leads initiatives for student recruitment in compliance with university guidelines and expectations of the academic unit head.


Administers All Aspects of Student Admissions Management -

Manages the student admission process, course registration, and teacher certification process.
Processes student admission applications for all undergraduate and graduate education programs.
Uploads admitted applicant information in GaPSC system database.
Processes Pre-Service teacher certification applications.
Processes Pre-Service teacher candidates Induction Certificate applications after program graduation.
Maintains student databases related to candidate admissions, graduation, and certification and ensures that all data is complete and correct.
Composes letters of notification to prospective students and faculty when application packets are received.
Provides students and necessary stakeholders with information related to grades and grade point averages.
Registers all admitted students.
Processes student grade appeals and creates appropriate workflow designations regarding appeals.
Maintains student concern forms and creates appropriate workflow designations regarding student concerns
Processes student program withdrawals and creates appropriate workflow designations for withdrawals.
Verifies plan of study for student financial aid certification
Fulfills notary public duties.


Preparation and Maintenance of Various Reporting -

Prepares spreadsheets and other reports related to unit marketing, student recruitment, student admission, student progression, student graduation, and candidate certification.
Researches, extracts, organizes, and maintains data in the Banner Student Information System, Degree Works, and program database for program accreditation and annual reports.
Verifies graduation audits.
Maintains GACE ETS score reports
Maintains Title II systems and EDU department databases
Maintains all appropriate records and completes all certification, state, and federal Department of Teacher Education and Social Work reports such as but not limited to: Board of Regents Completer¿s Report; Title II Federal report; Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) AIMS EPP report; Georgia Professional Standards Commission Completer¿s report, PAAR Report, and TPMS; American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) PEDS report, and unit/program assessments (i.e., Candidate Work Sample); University System of Georgia (USG) ED Datamart, and other state and national reporting as needed.


Provides Student Support and Retention Actions -

Provides support to the unit for unit-level student support and retention efforts as guided by the academic unit head.
Leads initiatives for student support and retention in compliance with university guidelines and expectations of the academic unit head.


Administrative Services -

Responsible for the establishment, management, security, and purging of confidential student, staff, and faculty files.
Provides information and responds to inquiries through appropriate modes (verbal, written, or other effective means) to students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders regarding degree program and university policies and procedures.
Gathers information and responds to inquiries regarding the status of issues pending resolution such as complaints and special requests from students, staff, faculty, and relevant stakeholders.
Prepares memoranda, letters, emails, and reports as needed within the unit.
Serves as a liaison with internal and external offices and personnel at all levels.
Provides support to ensure that unit level priorities and deadlines are met on unit projects.
Performs office reception duties as needed within the unit, such as but not limited to answering phone calls, greeting visitors and taking messages.
Determines caller or visitor's business, the urgency of their needs, and resolve personally or refer to the appropriate person or department.
Maintains faculty and staff confidential personnel files.
Processes new faculty and staff forms and other relevant paperwork.
Processes part-time and adjunct faculty contracts and other paperwork.
Prepares travel authorizations and reimbursements for part-time clinical field instructors.
Coordinates and maintains the distribution of course evaluation reports.
Completes faculty and staff roster each semester.
Assists with maintaining departmental website updates.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Enters course schedules into Banner.


Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.

Required Experience
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.

The minimum salary for this position is $39,633 ($19.05/hr) and includes benefits.
