What you do:

The Administrator in Training (AIT) is a program that provides a career track to become a licensed administrator. The position is designed for individuals who desire to learn the key leadership roles of a Nursing Home Administrator. The goal of the program is to work alongside you to provide a broad knowledge about operations, which will help you develop your unique leadership style that fits the Mission Point culture while preparing you to transition into a leadership role. The AIT will:

  • Attend regional meetings, conferences and workshops with the AITs Administrator
  • Participate, as assigned, on task groups, work groups and other events with region-wide or company-wide impact
  • Complete activities in accordance with the modules
  • Develop special projects that add value to the organization and defend project processes and outcomes
  • Complete in writing all required Special Projects and maintain related reports, updates or documents
  • Observe or participate fully in all aspects of working at a center. (i.e., Family Conferences, team meetings, new employee orientation, clinical care conferences, financial and labor management, etc....
  • Provide the center / organization management team with regular support, feedback and shared information regarding how the Center operates and how it may improve
  • Become knowledgeable with the laws, regulations and guidelines governing personnel administration and more.
  • Required to work for the company for 1 year after AIT program is complete.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or similar, Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Current NHA license issues for the state of Michigan/ or working on obtaining within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry; skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
