Description:The Administrative Assistant (AA) will manage a wide range of support functions for the Directors of the Membership and Maturity Departments at New Salem. The ability to interact with executives, team members, church members and clientele at all levels in a fast paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, and resourceful with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role.
Requirements:
1. College Associates or Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training at the executive level; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Expert working level knowledge of MS Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel required (or equivalent expert working level knowledge of Apple/Mac Apps – Pages, Numbers, Keynote).
3. Strong attention to details and a high level of written and verbal communication skills, as well as, planning and organizational skills.
4. Excellent telephone skills – must speak with courtesy, and professionalism
5. Proven ability to exercise considerable discretion and independent judgment when making decisions and interacting with others on behalf of the church.
6. Self-starter, able to take initiative and ownership of projects and prioritize workload to completion with limited supervision.
7. If a member of New Salem, support the mission and vision of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church (involvement in ministry and on-going Christian Education and training – Sunday School, C.A.R.E. Group Ministry and New Salem Leadership Training).
