JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Adjunct Fine Arts Faculty

COLLEGE/SCHOOL/DEPT: Arts and Sciences

RANK: Adjunct Professor

SALARY: Commensurate with Qualifications per Adjunct Salary Schedule

REPORTS TO: Fine Arts Program Chair

POSITION SUMMARY:

Heritage University, a private, non-profit, liberal arts college serving a diverse population in Central Washington seeks adjunct
faculty in Studio Art courses.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Represents Heritage University in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients,
suppliers and the community we serve. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students and other
customers of our services, learns and uses operating practices of the department and Heritage University.
2. Upholds the Heritage University Mission Statement.
3. Handles confidential information with tact, discretion and in compliance with FERPA regulations.
4. Potential of teaching 1-3 classes per semester, including Foundation studio courses such as Design, Drawing,
Painting, Pottery, Graphic Design, Art Seminars, and Special Topic courses as assigned.
5. Work collaboratively with full-time faculty and chair to support a dynamic and responsive visual arts program.
6. Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

1. BFA/BA with relevant teaching experience
2. College Level teaching experience
3. Five years as a practicing artist with evidence of an active exhibition record

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. MFA Degree
2. Academic background and interest in art history and art criticism
3. Gallery exhibition development and installation experience
4. Experience working with diverse and underrepresented populations
5. Engagement with community services in the arts
6. Ability to be adaptable and flexible with departmental needs
