We're looking for someone to join our team as an ADA & RTW Analyst who:

Serves as the primary contact for associates seeking reasonable accommodation through the interactive process. Ensures all accommodation processes and procedures are effectively executed and managed in accordance with federal and state guidelines. Case manages all reasonable accommodation leaves of absence and complex Family Medical Leave (Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, Pregnancy Disability Leave etc.) leaves. Serves as subject matter expert to management, human performance and leave case managers on complex and/or escalated leave cases. Participates in claim resolution activities with vocational rehabilitation counselors, medical specialists, human performance, safety specialists and divisions/departments.

Essential Functions:

  • Assesses associate functional capacity for restricted-duty and identifies effective accommodation solutions. Develops and implements modified/alternate job accommodation work plans and monitors all case management activities on a diaried, day-by-day basis. Assesses the medical status, vocational, and behavioral needs of a disabled associate via a combination of face to face (virtual), telephonic, and written correspondence. Collaborates with talent acquisition in special reassignment and re-employment assessments for associates unable to perform essential job duties of their usual and customary job. Leads the Medical Separation of employment process in collaboration with human performance advisors and applicable business stakeholders. Makes appropriate recommendations based on compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. Partners with program stakeholders (Management, Human Performance, Labor Relations, Office of General Counsel and Employee Health Services) to effect creative solutions to resolve a variety of complex accommodation cases. Develops and maintains relationships with disability plan third-party administrators and medical care providers for early identification of return-to-work cases. Reinforces and manages the early transitional return to work program to maximize productivity and gain company wide support for early return-to-work of associates with disabilities.
  • Interprets all leave of absence policies and programs in accordance with federal and state employment laws, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements. Serves as a confidential resource for associates, managers and human performance advisors regarding leaves of absence, disability options, policies, procedures, and related issues. Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
  • Participates in expert-witness testimony at the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) on Workers' Compensation cases and accommodation activities in collaboration with third party administrator and HP advisors. Participates in disability management/rehabilitation meetings to discuss trends, recent ADA/FEHA court cases, workers' compensation updates impacting the provision of services to associates with disabilities.
  • Facilitates the provision of formal return-to-work services with internal stakeholders. Participates in disability management/rehabilitation meetings to discuss trends, recent ADA/FEHA court cases, workers' compensation updates impacting the provision of services to associates with disabilities. Develops and maintains accommodation case records to ensure compliance, accuracy and documentation of efforts. Discerns cases that require input, action, and interpretation by human performance advisors, Office of the General Counsel, Employee Assistance Program, or other expertise. Convene appropriate business stakeholders in trend identification and risk mitigation. Develops and delivers training programs for management and business stakeholders. Participates and develops Standard Operating Procedures for Integrated Absence Management Programs.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources & absence management or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Work Experience:

  • Five years experience in human resources, disability management, leave case management, human resources compliance or related work experience.: Preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS): Preferred
