Corrigan Moving Systems is looking for a full-time, experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to work in our corporate headquarters, located in Farmington Hills, MI.

With a complete suite of moving services, Corrigan serves commercial and residential customers in the US and overseas.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is primarily responsible for in-house collections of past due balances from our residential and commercial customers, and account reconciliations. This position will require strong customer service skills, knowledge of accounting and collection procedures, and a great attention to detail.

Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities

• Responsible for in-house collections for residential and commercial customers adhering to established processes and policies
• Contact customers for payment resolution, while focusing on the customer experience in a friendly, and professional manner
• Partner with claims, customer service, billing, and sales to investigate and solve problems with customer accounts regarding billing and collection issues
• Process and post payments and billing adjustments to customer accounts
• Produce and maintain various reporting, as required by management
• Work independently to complete daily responsibilities, while communicating frequently with department manager
• Perform other duties and functions deemed necessary by management

Accounts Receivable Specialist Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven collections experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with accounting software used to manage day-to-day financial transactions of an organization
• Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and efficiently to complete responsibilities and tasks for role
• Working knowledge of Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, federal and state laws (FDCPA)
• Strong math aptitude required with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be highly organized, with a strong attention to detail, show good judgment and possess excellent customer service skills
• Associates in accounting, business, or related field is a plus
