This position will be the main liaison between Accounts Payable (AP) and Janney’s business units, assist with day-to-day direction and guidance to AP associates, and perform the full range of Accounts Payable functions in a pro-active, timely, and accurate manner. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with day to day direction, guidance, and coaching to the Accounts Payable associates, including participating in performance and development discussions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, policies and procedures; identifies and implements methods to streamline processes and automate functions to achieve greater efficiency and productivity.
  • Develops and applies a functional expertise with the expense management system (Chrome River), general ledger system (MS Dynamics SL), and travel card programs (US Bank Payment Plus, Managed Spend, Event Planning, & Corporate Card)
  • Performs the full range of Accounts Payable functions
  • Audits expense reports and receipts in accordance with compliance of Travel and Business Expense policy.
  • Researches and provides accurate resolution and timely follow up to vendor and employee inquiries.
  • Assist, lead, and perform other projects and/or duties as assigned
  • Required Experience/Education
  • BS in Business, Accounting, or related field strongly preferred or equivalent experience in lieu of a college degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably with at least 2 years as team lead.
  • Demonstrated success as a team lead, with a strong desire and capabilities to move into a management role.
Skills:
  • Superior time management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, be detailed oriented, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Extensive computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications; expertise using advanced features with Excel strongly preferred
  • Ability to think and act strategically.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communicator and interpersonal skills
