Salary: $1,326 - $1,519 semi-monthly *Salary may be commensurate of education and/or experience

Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Financial Assistance Center, and will be located at Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri 65101.

This is a temporary, full-time, benefit-eligible position based upon federal American Rescue Plan Act funding. Position funding will end no later than December 31, 2026.

What you’ll do:

• Review payment requests and supporting documentation for ARPA financial assistance recipients receiving funding for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects and lead service line inventories.
• Ensure payments are processed in accordance with internal controls, applicable Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, federal and state guidance on program administration, as well as per the financial assistance award.
• Perform peer reviews of payment requests.
• Utilize the on-line ARPA portal to process payment requests.
• Through the ARPA portal, prepare periodic reports with current performance and financial information about the financial assistance recipients grant award, obligations, expenditures, etc.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant experience, such as accounts payable duties (reviewing invoices and processing payments).

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical financial issues in an understandable manner.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
