Perform general accounting functions in order to support and maintain an effective accounting program

Key Roles & Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will:

- Perform audits of varying scopes and complexities
- Prepare accounting information to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Review and approve appropriate documentation
- Collect, review and analyze data to prepare consolidation statement.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
- Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications in Accounting with 3-4 years related work experience.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and auditing standards
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, mainframe applications, and other office equipment
- Performs a variety of accounting activities including but not limited to: journal entries, account reconciliations, and commodity settlements
- Applies appropriate accounting procedures and maintains effective internal controls
- Completes accounting activities to maintain the books and records in accordance with GAAP
- Prepares schedules and reporting to support the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes
- Participates in new business initiatives and special projects as assigned
- Participates in establishing new accounting processes and streamlining existing processes
- Performs financial gas and power settlements, physical power settlements, exchange settlements and processing broker fees.
- Participates in training to ensure compliance
