SUMMARY:
The primary responsibilities of the Accountant include, but are not limited, to data integrations, account analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, and report preparation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and completes Workday data integrations into Oracle.
- Prepares account reconciliations, researches exception items, and takes corrective action.
- Prepares and analyzes journal entries and reports.
- Coordinates with other departments as needed to complete tasks.
- Prepares, and maintains accurate records and reports of accounting transactions.
- Provides records and documentation to internal and external auditors.
- Analyzes data to identify trends, exceptions, and anomalies.
- Recommends improvements to processes, controls, and procedures.
- Additional tasks and projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Solid understanding of General Ledger Accounting, GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Strong work ethic and collaborative team player.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
- Able to follow directions and procedures.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to adhere to deadlines.
- Quick to learn.
- Excellent PC-based software application skills: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
EDUCATION:
- Four-year Bachelor's Accounting degree.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
- 3+ years journal entry and account reconciliation experience.
- Experience with Oracle, Blackline, and Workday a plus.
This is a contract position providing services to Helmerich & Payne (H&P) through a third-party staffing agency. If you are selected for this role, you will be an employee of the agency and not H&P.
