About the Company:

The Inn at Schofield is a small 192 room hotel located on Schofield Barracks Army Base in Wahiawa. The Inn was established to provide temporary lodging for soldiers and their families during their PCS in or out.

  • Bus service is limited onto Schofield Base and requires an approved base pass.
  • All guests without current base access must check-in at Lyman Gate for vehicle inspection and an approved day pass.

Job Title: Accountant

Supervisor: Administrative Director

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the administrative director, the accountant will maintain and analyze accounting records and financial reports. The accountant will also compile and maintain accounts payable records and prepares federal and state tax returns for the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journal, ledgers, and computers.
  • Debits, credits, and totals accounts.
  • Receives, records, and banks cash, checks and vouchers.
  • Checks and approves all vouchers for payment.
  • Reviews and verifies accounting records and transactions for accuracy, and reports discrepancies found in records.
  • Prepares and submits financial reports as required and reviews for accuracy prior to distribution.
  • Prepares invoice deduction notices as necessary.
  • Accounting, or auditing reports and tables of cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Compiles reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business.
  • Prepares accounts payable checks and maintains all accounts payable files.
  • Prepares daily cash deposits and processes daily credit card deposits.
  • Files check stubs and bank receipts.
  • Researches and processes charge backs, returns, and bad checks.
  • Maintains records of payment collection and status of accounts.
  • Examines accounts and records and computes taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
  • Organizes and maintains tax records and conducts tax studies and special projects.
  • Completes forms for tax refunds.
  • Answers vendor inquiries.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to use different types of office equipment and computer software to meet the performance requirements of the job.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and computer skills.
  • Experience with Quickbooks.
