A&P Mechanic Overview:

Sun Country Airlines is seeking an A&P Mechanic for our Minneapolis, Minnesota location. Technicians are assigned to both line and hangar maintenance, there is ability to get certifications (tow, engine run, taxi, airworthiness release, ETOPS and LLM/CAT) in a short amount of time. Technicians are given responsibilities to exercise their skills in many facets within aircraft maintenance. The opportunity to become a traveling/flight mechanic; this will allow you to travel on and repair the aircraft wherever the aircraft flies to. Essential roles and responsibilities of The A&P Mechanic:

  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft to Sun Country Airlines standards.
  • Correctly complete paperwork for maintenance performed on aircraft.
  • Enter all log items, NRTCs, and task cards into TRAX.
  • Identify and report problems that could impact daily maintenance operations.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Station Supervisor during all maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain an up-to-date OJT file.
  • Assist with training of newly hired individuals, as necessary.
  • Accomplish housekeeping of maintenance facilities, as required.
  • Move and park aircraft as operations warrant.
  • Move and position ground equipment as needed for the maintenance operation.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines.
  • Any other duties assigned by management

Classification:  Full-time, Non-Exempt

Working Location:  This position is open in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The qualifications we are looking for in an A&P Mechanic include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A&P license required
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving skills
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision under stressful situations

Preferred requirements:

  • 2 years line maintenance preferred
  • 2 years 737NG jet experience preferred
  • 737NG Familiarization Class preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in aircraft structural repair preferred
  • Valid US Passport preferred
