About this Role: The Director or Manager of Development will support CA’s fundraising efforts. They will develop compelling materials used to cultivate supporters and solicit grants from federal, state, and private sources. Success in this role means we can fund current and new programs and build a community of advocates who believe in what is possible for all students. The Director or Manager of Development will report directly to the Chief Strategy Officer. We are looking for someone who will capture the hearts of their target audience and build a community of advocates who believe in what is possible for every student. As a team, we are tasked with ensuring that our schools and programs have the resources they need to provide the highest quality experiences for all kids.


About Collegiate Academies:
Collegiate Academies prepares all students for lives of unlimited opportunity. Founded in 2008, Collegiate Academies serves over 3,000 students in five public high schools and two postsecondary programs in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. We serve a dramatically higher proportion of students with special needs, students who are English language learners, and students who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. We see the individual greatness of every student who comes through our doors.


Responsibilities:

General Fundraising/Development Responsibilities

  • Work with the members of the Advancement Team to build, execute, and manage a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school-based teams.
  • Provide support in managing events, tours and donor cultivation activities as needed.
  • Research and identify new funders and funding opportunities on an ongoing basis.
  • Establish and maintain systems, execute tracking of donations and communications with donors

Grants Management

  • Write and assemble compelling applications for private philanthropic grants and non-recurring federal/state/local funding opportunities.
  •  Lead and/or support in the management of large scale grants. This includes setting up and leading meetings with a range of stakeholders, project management, and maintaining regular communication with CA and external teammates.
  • Research information and statistics to bolster proposals and reports.
  • Drive the preparation of required progress and final reports, including compiling necessary information from program and finance staff, drafting written reports, and submitting all reports in a timely manner.

Competitive Public Funding

  • Work with network- and school-based teams to coordinate application processes for various non-recurring public funding streams.
