The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations increase capacity and sustainability for programs focused on alleviating poverty, while developing new leadership to help strengthen Wisconsin’s communities and move them “forward.” With passion, commitment, and hard work, our VISTAs help affiliates bring individuals & communities out of poverty. Habitat for Humanity envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Located on the Door Peninsula, Door County Habitat Humanity began in 1993. Over the past 29 years, they've built 45 homes and completed 85 home repair projects in Door County, impacting over 290 people, including 119 children. Every year, Door County Habitat typically has over 150 volunteers who donate over 8,000 hours. Habitat homes are in Sturgeon Bay, Sevastopol, Bailey’s Harbor, Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Sister Bay, Liberty Grove, Ellison Bay and Washington Island. Habitat-built homes in Door County have added a total of $1.05 million in property tax base since 1993. And since 2010, over 1.6 million pounds of reusable materials have been diverted from landfills through merchandise sales and recycling by the Habitat ReStore. Member Duties : You’ll update and optimize fundraising processes and procedures, research and apply for grants, and recruit new volunteers in order to build more homes and complete more home repairs. You will develop a dashboard of key data and information that can be easily accessed when applying for grants and generating reports. You will work with the executive director to identify and research prospective donors and develop cultivation strategies. You will creatively engage “non-traditional” volunteers and develop Interfaith Team Builds. **Interviews are done on a rolling basis.
