Please note: This is a home-and-community-based position based in the San Carlos area. NeuroNav is a third-party assistant in this hiring process and the family/Aveanna (Home Healthcare Agency) are the direct employers for this role.

Hours: Part-Time, 2-3 days a week (combination of Monday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday), 6 hours per day (9-3 or 10-4)

Required Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass background check through DOJ
• Must provide 2 references (professional preferred)
• Must have authorization to work in the US
• Reliable transportation
• Proof of valid Driver’s License and current Auto Insurance
• Clean driving record
• Reliable cell phone communication
• Punctual and on time to agreed upon hours
• Must be willing to transport client in family’s vehicle
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (includes boosters)
• Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
• Active CPR and FirstAid certifications

• A respectful, honest, and kind disposition
• An interest in working with individuals with disabilities. Previous experience highly desirable
• Ability to maintain progress notes, daily log and records
• Ability to be flexible to changing assignments because of client’s complex medical needs
• Ability to ask for help when needed
• Ability to take initiative and be independent with activities following initial training
• Excellent time management skills and active listening skills.
• Experience administering medications (training and guidance will be provided)

Job Duties:

• Maintain client’s well-being / comfort and respond to needs for personal care
• Position client in their wheelchair with proper adjustment of their seatbelt, laterals, abductor, and headrest
• Transfer client from their wheelchair to another seating system or to their bed at various times throughout the day
• Change diapers and clothes as needed
• Light meal prep
• Feed client their meals
• If needed, administer medications as directed by parents
• Be prepared to respond to a seizure, should the client experience one
• Observe and report any changes in skin color, wounds, physical appearance, demeanor, and mood
• Facilitate client’s use of equipment and devices
• Accompany client to therapy appointments and classes
• Drive client to all activity sites – understand how to safely use the EZ-Lock and seatbelt system in client’s van
• Facilitate client’s participation in extracurricular activities with peers
• When not doing community-based outings, engage client in ability-appropriate activities at home (reading books, iPad games, musical toys)
• Complete a daily reporting log journal
• Record daily shift attendance through Home Healthcare Agency’s portal
