Young Adults Program: *The Young Adults Program at the OFJCC is the premier destination for Jewish young adults in the South Peninsula. The program aims to help build upon and cultivate the current Jewish community in the Bay Area and encompasses Jewish people of all identities. The focus of the program is to innovate opportunities for meaningful and relevant Jewish living and build community among our constituents.

The Job: Do you enjoy event planning and networking? If so, this might be the role for you! As the Young Adults Program Coordinator, you will assist the Program Manager in planning and executing events for young adults, focusing on logistics and volunteer coordination. You will also create connections in the community, do outreach work and build lasting relationships.

The Core Duties: *

• Support Program Manager with event programming and logistics
• Ensure events are promoted on an ongoing basis to drive attendance at events
• Coordinate off-site logistics for events including contracts and billing
• Maintain a knowledge base of diverse resources and events for Jewish Young Adults
• Assist with connecting Jewish Young Adults with Jewish paths and other people and organizations to help fulfil their goals

The Essentials:

• Associate’s Degree
• Educated in areas of Jewish content. This could range from traditional Jewish texts and tradition to Zionism, contemporary Jewish culture and Jewish social and political activism
• 2-5 years of administrative or event planning experience
• Capable of building rapport and developing meaningful relationships with a wide variety of young adults in various settings in Silicon Valley
• Passion for creating sense of community among Peninsula Jewish young adults, especially the “unaffiliated”/“unengaged”, in innovative ways
• Volunteer management experience
• Sense of humor and patience, as this is a groundbreaking initiative that requires being nimble
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate information clearly (written and oral) in English;
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and work under pressure and prioritize/track task completion
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook), Google Docs, Social media including at least some of: Facebook, Twitter, Meetup.com and Instagram
• Ability to work nights and weekends when needed
• Ability and desire to work independently and as a team member with the community and other employees
• Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working in a non-profit environment
• Have mode of transportation for off-site events
