Job description
The Working Foreman is responsible for supervising and managing rodbusters and laborers to ensure work is done to our safety and quality standards. Must have advanced knowledge of the rebar construction process, with the ability to read drawings and run a crew.
Responsibilities include:
- Read and understand shop drawings
- Perform jobs on their own
- Assist workers in their duties
- Inspect the quality of all work to ensure it is done to our safety and quality standards
- Space and fasten rods in forms per approved blueprints using wire and pliers
- Position and secure rods in concrete forms using fasteners and hand tools
- Operate power tools
- Cut and fit metal mesh, wire and rods
- Comply with safety standards and training requirements
Qualifications:
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions, such as extreme heat and cold, along with noise and dust depending on project site
- Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- May require prolonged positioning, such as bending, twisting, reaching overhead, lifting, etc.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and workers both verbally and written
- Must be able to read and understand shop drawings
