Worker’s Compensation Administrator


General Summary:


As the Worker's Compensation Administrator, you will provide daily assistance to management staff, teammates, claims adjusters, insurance brokers, and defense counsel by answering claims-related questions or concerns in the administration and management of claims, return-to-work issues, and other claims matters. The Worker's Compensation Administrator will be required to coordinate all processes related to workers’ compensation claims.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


Job Duties:

  • Process, evaluate, and oversee workers’ compensation claims, documentation, status reports, and claims settlement/coverage.
  • Oversee compensability investigations.
  • Maintain subrogation records for workers' compensation claims, update the risk management center to update all OSHA reports i.e. 300, 300A, RIR, DART, etc.
  • Ensure clarity regarding work restrictions are understood by the terminal management, followed for modified duty, and get a Modified Duty Offer Letter for each case.
  • Educate employees about workers’ compensation procedures/policies and follow up on the assigned retraining.
  • Evaluate workers' compensation claims applications, analyze complexities in claims data and identify missing information.
  • Report potential fraud that affects critical claim decisions.
  • Assist with compiling information for depositions by collaborating with our company’s terminal management, Safety and HR departments, insurance company, attorneys, etc.
  • Coordinate with partner resources and claimants to resolve workers’ compensation cases in accordance with applicable guidelines, relevant laws, regulations, policy requirements, industry standards, and company policy.
  • Other tasks as needed.


Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:


  • 3 plus years of experience in workers’ compensation or a similar role.
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with compensation analytics and job evaluation principles.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal employment laws.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


  • Must be a highly motivated and proactive individual.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and ADP.
  • Must possess a clear understanding, aptitude and desire for problem solving, learning new systems and improving processes.
  • Possess an eagerness to learn, develop and work in a fast paced and positive team environment.
  • Can coordinate and execute multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities.
  • Must be a strong individual able to take initiative and complete projects from concept to completion.
