General Responsibilities:
To perform basic duties related to overall patient services at the Tri-County Community Action Agency, as well as providing comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological (OBGYN) care to patients served, in accordance with the Agency’s policies. To assist the CMO in overseeing and directing quality of care, clinical education and risk management for OBGYN medical services. The Women’s Health Lead will take on a lead position within the health center and act as a mentor to newer medical providers including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Midwives, and Physician Assistants as well as a lead role for all other clinical support staff in the Tri-County Health Centers. In addition, the Women’s Health Lead will serve as the provider champion for programs and grants related to women’s health, prenatal care, sexual health and family planning as delegated.
Specific Responsibilities:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
1. Participating in In-service, Orientation, Committee, Supervision and Staff meetings as requested by the CMO.
2. Attending relevant training/conferences as requested/directed by the CMO (This may require out-of-state travel).
3. Supporting the mission of Tri-County Community Action Agency and the Health Center in the community by acting as a liaison between the Health Center and the wider health professional community including OBGYN offices and labor and delivery hospitals.
4. Interacting regularly with the Leadership Team and attending weekly meetings as requested.
5. Participating in continuing education programs, including annual training programs on compliance as required by OSHA as well as continued medical education in women’s health.
6. Assisting in credentialing and re-credentialing of medical providers in the provision of prenatal care.
7. Providing and organizing clinical education including provider lunch and learns and direct clinical teaching of other providers and students/interns when needed both formally and informally.
8. Assisting CMO and HIT/QI department in performing peer reviews including chart reviews and performance evaluations.
9. In CMO and Assistant Medical Director absence, as assigned, acts on behalf of CMO and Assistant Medical Director which can include committee and association meetings or presentations outside of and within Tri-County.
Required Qualifications:
1. MD, DO, NP, PA or CNM degree from accredited school, college or university
2. Unrestricted RI license to practice medicine
3. Board Certification or Certification by appropriate Medical Board
4. Active Federal DEA License and RI controlled substance license
5. X-waiver preferred
6. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
7. Staff privileges at area hospitals as dictated by need, as per the CMO
8. CPR certification
9. Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, knowledge and understanding of healthcare management and operations.
