Wellness Recovery Specialist Overview:

Wellness Recovery Specialist’s main objective is to provide oversight and training in all aspects of independent living skills to adults living with severe mental illness and/or substance use disorder in a supervised residential setting. This role requires proactive multitasking and coordination. The Wellness Recovery Specialist must embrace ReDiscover’s aspirational culture of respect, excellence-focused, dedication, inclusion, strategic, compassionate, optimistic, visionary, engaging, and recovery-driven.

The Wellness Recovery Specialist can expect to be a vital asset to ReDiscover’s strategic business plan by utilizing:

Strategy & Planning

• Working in collaboration with clients’ families, and other providers to identify client accomplishments, strengths, and resources that could be mobilized to support wellness and recovery and implement the client’s comprehensive, individualized recovery plan.
• Assess client’s self-care, health and wellness, emotional and vocational goals, and needs.
• Provide individual and group personal growth skills training utilizing evidenced-based practices.
• Assists client’s learning daily living activities.
• Develop collaborative relationships with other departments, services, and community health care agencies to facilitate and support wellness and quality care.

Operational Management

• Utilization of problem-solving skills
• Customer service focused
• Support the strategic goals and mission/vision/values of ReDiscover when interacting with clients, co-workers, and community stakeholders.
• Contribute to the mission of ReDiscover by adjusting work priorities and duties as needed to meet unforeseen demands.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Wellness Specialist will work 10-hour days from Sunday through Wednesday. Required shift is from 11:30am to 10:30pm, with a 1-hour lunch each day.

• Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field.
• Three (3) years of direct human services, including residential services preferred.
• Understanding the function of nonprofits, specifically within behavioral healthcare is preferred.
• Strong analytical capabilities and conflict resolution skills.
• Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as G-Suite.
• Acts with integrity by observing ReDiscover policy/procedures, accreditation standards, laws, and ethics.
• Self-Driven individual with a customer service focus.
• Team-Oriented and skilled in collaborating with others.
