Classic Equine Equipment, located among the rolling hills and horse farms of Southern Missouri, was founded in 1991 on a love for horses and a commitment to their ultimate care and safety. The Welder welds metal parts together using specified wire welding processes. Performs related tasks such as flame cutting and grinding.

Essential Functions

• Uses MIG welder to assemble fabricated mild steel and aluminum products in an efficient manner to maximize production
• Operates the equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment or its operators to the Safety Director or Maintenance Department
• Produces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous and consistent
• Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process
• Maintains/produces a level of output that will minimize production delays
• Cleans and maintains an orderly work area
• Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal overflow
• Assists other individuals in area when needed
• Other duties as deemed necessary and requested by the Supervisor
• Implements all aspects of Lean Manufacturing
• Willing to be cross trained, learn new techniques, and continuously improve their skill sets

Required Education and Experience

• Knowledge of welding processes and equipment
• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to weld vertical, flat and overhead welds with a good penetration and quality appearance
• Good communications skills relative to supervisor and other related departments
• Ability to hold final required cosmetic finish with angle grinders and sanders
• Math skills, including fractions and angles
• Ability to read tape measures and angle finders
• Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists
• Ability to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches
• Ability to pass a weld test given on-site during interview

Preferred Education and Experience

• Ability to operate a plasma cutter, carbon arc gouger and acetylene torches is desired
• Training in forklift operation desirable
