Position Summary: The Weekend Receptionist will be the first point of contact for guests and staff at the Zoo. This position will also ensure all documents are managed and ensure all processes are being followed.

Essential Job Functions:

• Answer, direct, and transfer phone calls as needed.
• Greet incoming customers, visitors, and staff in a friendly and positive way.
• Prepare communications such as direct mailings, reports, and other correspondence.
• Ensure operation of office equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and calling for repairs.
• Manage membership sales and renewals.
• Return to calls placed on hold every 45 seconds, giving the caller the option to continue holding or to leave a message.
• Take and deliver accurate phone messages.
• Perform ticket sales and sell gift cards.
• Respond to general inquiries from guests and staff and provide accurate information.
• Manage the radio for deliveries.
• Schedule and process weekend birthdays and field trips.
• All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Talents:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to muti-task and handle situations as they come about.
• Strong sense of time management and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in an office management or administrative position, preferred.
• Ability to communicate across various means including in-person, email, and telephone.

Physical Requirements:

This position must be able to sit for long periods of time, operate a computer, office equipment, and may occasionally lift up to 20lbs.

Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to indoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
