JOB TITLE: Warehouseman
STATUS: Non-Exempt
HOURS: Full Time
LOCATION: Lake Charles, LA
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsibilities include organizing stock in the warehouse, forklift operation, unloading palletized inventory and material in, loading dry van trucks hauling products directly to customers. Also emptying bulk toted product into a conveying system to load bulk hoppers shipping directly to customers. Will work closely with Warehouse Lead to maintain accurate inventory counts and documentation for raw materials and finished goods. Responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary working environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with maintaining a neat and organized warehouse.
- Assist with maintaining inventory counts.
- Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks carrying raw materials and checking merchandise in. Sort and place the incoming product in assigned storage areas.
- Assist loading van and bulk trucks carrying ordered product out.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Follow RiceBran Technologies Food Safety Plan put in place by the QA department to ensure a high level of sanitation and food safety.
- Ensure all product has been cleared by QA prior to shipping.
- Palletize and stretch wrap packaged product as needed.
- Follow and implement the facility sanitation plan and procedures.
- Assist with maintenance and sanitation of all warehouse equipment.
- All other duties assigned by management.
- The company will provide training on all essential duties and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Experience:
1-year previous food product warehouse experience.
Required Job Skills:
Follow working procedures put in place by management. Knowledge of the facility’s food safety plan that includes food plant GMPs. Knowledge of safe operation palletizing and packaging equipment. Safe operation of forklift and warehouse equipment. Accurately record and document inventory and shipping information. Good communication and teamwork skills. Dependable and reliable.
Minimum Required Education:
High School Degree or Equivalent
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS, COURSES, OR OTHER TRAINING REQUIRED
- Forklift Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Regularly lifting up to 50 lbs
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Able to work in hot/cold, dusty conditions.
- Able to climb at least 50ft on vertical ladders.
