Position Summary

This position is responsible for efficiently scheduling and routing home medical equipment and supply deliveries that are performed by the HME Technicians. The position interacts daily with other departments to ensure seamless service to our customers as well as provide assistance and problem solve a variety of equipment, customer, and inventory related issues. This position assists with organization and maintains inventory accuracy. The position audits delivery documentation, educates staff, and reports results to management. This position may act as a backup for the HME Technicians. After hours on-call is a component of this position.

• 
  Utilize technology tools including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Brightree, Transport Manager, Jabber, Webex, Desk Phone, Cell Phone.
• Monitor and promptly respond to email and phone messages.
• Reconcile orders from previous day (including on-call) to ensure orders are not missed
• Assures patient compliance with oxygen therapy.
• Develops, implements and/or revises routing schedules consistent with all patients’ oxygen usage
• requirements in the home.
• Documents all interactions and/or attempts to contact patient/family/caregivers within Brightree.
• Documents receipt/delivery of weights, equipment identification numbers, and pertinent patient information.
• Maintains shipping papers manifest.
• Schedules routine maintenance of the delivery vehicles.
• Responsible for showroom and walk-in traffic teaching and setup of durable medical equipment including walkers, wheelchairs, commodes, canes, bilirubin lights, etc.
• Responsible for the documentation, tracking, and billing of medical equipment distributed to home care patients in hospital, clinic, and home settings.
• Coordinates delivery of HME and supplies to assure timely, safe, and accurate delivery to patients.
• Assembles and packages orders for delivery and maintains delivery schedule.
• Assists by picking orders and preparing for delivery as needed.
• Oversees data entry to ensure couriers are provided with accurate and updated pickup and delivery information.
• Maximizes the efficiency and productivity of delivery operations while limiting overtime.
• Maintains delivery schedule and communicates with all staff on status of deliveries.
• Upon request provides delivery options to intake teams. This includes infusion delivery personnel as well as outside couriers.
• Assists with inventory as needed (examples: answer warehouse doorbell, order placement, receives orders, shelves inventory, rotates stock, notes shortages)
• Ensures that warehouse area is neat, clean, and orderly.
• Manages the inventory of offsite equipment closets.
• Assists Infusion with picking and packing of orders.
• Assists Biomed with the coordination of equipment preventative maintenance.
• Assists with quality control for cleaned equipment, including verification of equipment status within the electronic medical record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses:

Education:

• 
  High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

• 
  One-year experience preferred in ordering equipment, inventory control, and/or performing minor equipment repairs, home delivery with training of equipment, products, and/or supplies in customer homes, and direct customer contact in the capacity of assisting with various types of equipment or products.
• Experience with medical supplies, medical equipment, and/or oxygen products preferred.

Miscellaneous:

• 
  Valid Wisconsin Driver’s license and ability to successfully pass a driving background check required.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of traffic regulations and safety precautions to be followed while operating a motor vehicle.
• Ability to perform frequent patient/client interactions, such as patient education and equipment set-up requiring good interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be able to lift50 pounds from both the ground and table height.
• Must be able to carry 50 pounds while walking 20 feet.
