Argo Group is currently seeking a highly motivated VP, Marketing and Distribution Management to lead the development and execution of profitable growth strategies for several lines of business. The leader will interact regularly with key executives for Argo's top distribution partners and will lead relationship development with a number of national strategic partners.

The ideal candidate brings strong existing relationships with retail and/or wholesale partners, demonstrates a strong sales and business acumen including a desire to win, solid sales planning, proactive execution of plans, strong customer-focused orientation and problem-solving abilities, and a focus on data-based decision making, metrics and reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversight and implementation of best practices for specified business unit events, new appointments, sponsorships, incentive agreements, etc.
  • Partner with Finance team to address issues in accounts receivable, investigate outstanding collections, and reduce bad debt.
  • Partner with business unit leadership to align business strategy and financial objectives with sales and marketing strategy. Develop strategic plans to enhance relationships and ensure profitable growth with assigned distribution partners.
  • Extensive experience sourcing and signing new relationships with retail and wholesale partners. Demonstrated track record of building out a territory or region with distribution partners, including vetting the broker, gaining commitments, setting up the Underwriters for success.
  • Client relationship management of a number of key national distribution partners. Responsible for annual strategic planning, execution of growth strategy and achieving annual growth targets.
  • Proactively capture client feedback and competitive intelligence to support product development and continuously refine the business units' value proposition and opportunities for growth.
  • Support cultivation of a sales culture throughout business unit.
  • Reviews the producer data report monthly, identifying trends, opportunities, and concerns; initiates proactive actions in support of the broader business unit strategy.
  • Collaborate with business unit and marketing communications team on annual marketing plan development and ongoing planning efforts.
  • Partner with business unit leaders on development and execution of major conference strategies, including scheduling, producer packets, events, presentations, and follow up.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field
  • 10+ years insurance experience
  • 5+ years in marketing role
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skill-set, including ability to analyze data and gain insights and provide direction
  • Ability to think strategically and "out-of-the-box"
  • Working within a matrixed environment - Ability to interface and work collaboratively and communicating with colleagues and management at various levels within an organization
  • Willingness to travel ~30%

The range provided is for US-based hires only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

Pay Range:

$140,000—$190,400 USD
