Veterinary Surgery and Anesthesia Technician (Credentialed)

We are seeking a mature, competent, and credentialed Technician in our surgical department with solid technical skills to join our diversified team! In addition to surgery and anesthesia this candidate will also be able to support the wide variety of departments within our hospital; internal medicine, emergency, oncology, cardiology, radiology, and dentistry.

The Surgery & Anesthesia Technician is involved in all aspects of surgical patient care, and contributes to client care and communication. The Surgery and Anesthesia Technician enables veterinarians to be efficient and productive. They provide compassionate, competent patient care and ensure that clients are supported and informed. The Surgery & Anesthesia Technician works under the primary direction of the Department Head and Technician Manager of Surgery.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

*Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).

*Ability to appropriately handle, lift and restrain animals.

*Ability to and stand for long periods of time.

*Be proficient at IV catheters, blood draws, laboratory procedures, monitoring anesthesia, medication administration and triaging.

*Have basic organizational and computer skills.

*Knowledge of veterinary practices, procedures and terminology with willingness to pursue further education.

*Familiar with federal and state animal health laws, including OSHA and DEA regulations.

Preferred:

*Two year of recent experience in veterinary practice with increasing responsibilities.

*Fear Free technique familiarity

*Experience with the software- Cornerstone and Instinct.

Pay: $17.80- $24.80 per hour
