As a member of the electrical systems group, the system validation Manager is responsible for validation of complete electrical system by using multiple test properties like HIL, Labcar and Test Vehicles. This position will report to Director of Vehicle Electrical System.

Responsibilities

• Develop roadmap, budget, and team requirements for management approval with proper justification. Gather and analyze inputs like System requirements, ECU requirements, CAN/LIN spec, Diagnostics spec, component technical spec, Diagnostic specs etc.
• Gather materials for testing like Sensors, Actuators, ECUs, Connectors, Wiring Harness from diverse set of sources.
• Coordinate with larger team to build following deliverables:
• Ensure that VLSRs (Vehicle Level System Requirements) are having clear test objectives.
• Ensure that all Work Packages have test cases mapping to every VLSRs.
• Ensure that Test Cases cover all SSTS (Subsystem Technical Specification), DT, DBC, Diag Specs, Functional Safety needs and DFMEA needs.
• Develop and maintain tool chain to automate test execution on HIL
• Build tool chains to enhance automation.
• Develop test scripts to automate the execution of above test case.
• Develop MATLAB/SIMULINK models for simulation of rest bus, Sensors, actuators, control systems and plant.
• Build and maintain HIL setup, Labcar.
• Maintain Test vehicles and its usage readiness.
• Procure parts for validation.
• Ensure execution of all test cases and report execution status every week
• Provide automation readiness report every week through regression testing
• Ensure that Regression testing is done periodically after every SW, HW update.
• Maximize coverage of test cases in regression testing.
• Ensure Polarion is used for Test Life Cycle management.
• Perform repeated validation of system for every change cycle (Baselines and Harness updates, Vehicle build phases etc.)
• Log defects and triage them with suppliers
• Coordinate fixes, retest and close the defects.
• Provide clear and comprehensive status on a daily/weekly basis.
• Maintain Lab, documents, and reports with 5S principles
• Supplier coordination:
• Provide direction through pilot execution of tasks
• Review pilot works from supplier
• Provide timely inputs and clarifications
• Track and inspire weekly progress.
• Release POs and approve Invoices
• Additional responsibilities:
• Support upstream activities like system modeling using MATLAB, Requirements generation
• Support proof of concepts for evaluation of new idea or features
• Continuous improvement of testing methodologies, system model and efficiency.
• Build and manage team to deliver the above.

• Minimum of 12 years electronic control module development, integration, and validation
• BS Electrical Engineering required; master’s degree preferred
• High level of oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN and Ethernet protocols
• MATLAB/ Simulink or other model-based programming methodologies
• Proficient in one or more relevant programming languages
• Problem solving experience where issues are unusual and difficult
• Previous OEM and Tier-1 automotive experience preferred
• Previous assembly plant launch experience preferred
• PPAP experience developing and creating Design records, FMEA’s, Control Plans, etc.
• Practical experience with test case development, both manual bench testing and automated (HiL) systems.
• Experience in dSPACE, ControlDesk/Scalexio, CANalyzer/CANoe, CANDiva, CANDELA, MATLAB/Simulink, Python programming, Embedded Programming, System Modeling, Simscape electrical and physical modeling, Excel VBA scripting etc.,
• Domain experience in one or more of: Body, Chassis, Powertrain and Infotainment
• High level of expertise in technical writing skills.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Hybrid or Electric Vehicle experience
• Familiarity with the light to mid-duty truck segment features such as trailer tow, cargo lighting, and up-fitters features
• Body Control Module release experience
• Experience with FMVSS requirements related to Body Control electronics, such as exterior lighting and horn control functions.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO-26262)
